Berjaya Palace Hotel is undeniable a recognizable landmark in Kota Kinabalu thanks to its unique castle-like structure, and location where it sits majestically on a rainforests hillside with a view of Kota Kinabalu city on one side and a serene mountain view on the other. The hotel is a mere 15 minutes drive from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

This mid-rise 6-story 3-star hotel blends old architecture with modern facilities, and offers 160 comfortable guestrooms with a range of in-room facilities suitable for the modern traveler. This hotel is characterized by a combination of modern comfort and traditional element of Kota Kinabalu, making it a distinct accommodation.

Although Berjaya Palace Hotel is located outside the city centre (a good half an hour by foot - but the big problem is walking up the steep road back to the hotel), it is not hard to find a taxi to the city. A shuttle bus also runs several times during the day.

Besides city transfers, the hotel boasts morning call, mail service, trouser press and voicemail among its services and amenities. For exercise or leisure, you will be pleased to find massage, poolside bar, cocktail lounge, steam room and sauna at the hotel. Other services such as audio-visual equipment, conference rooms, broadband internet, business center and catering make this hotel convenient especially for the corporate traveler.

For the discerning leisure travelers, a word of warning - "you get what you pay for". The rooms may be clean but appear to be in need of some re-decoration. The pool side is average at best, and the food may not necessary tempt your taste bud compared to other city hotels.
